A child prodigy at age seven, Gary was chosen by the academic community to receive drawing and painting instructions at the Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York. Born on Park Avenue, in New York, his exposure to some of the finest European and American representational paintings in museums and private collections, was to have a profound effect on his passion-driven hunger for painting excellence. But, it wasn't until 1985 when he left his professional field of corporate counseling and director of education and training, with a major international corporation to pursue his life's calling. Since then he has satisfied his hunger and achieved more than he had imagined. He was also privileged to exhibit his works along-side such noted celebrities and accomplished painters as Tony Curtis, Anthony Quinn and Tony Bennett. He states, "at about the age eleven, when standing in front of portraits by Rembrandt and Frans Hals, something came over me. It was as if I had been there before."
